Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got and update it. When you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. Choose the uninstall option and follow the wizard.
Disable Ad-Aware's Adwatch first! Run the AVG installer. If you downloaded the installation package, then it provides the uninstall option. Then run the uninstall/cleanup util for Avast because the WindowsĪdd/Remove isn't good for uninstalling antivirus programs. There is a known issue between AVG 8 and Anniversary Edition ofĪd-Aware which gives exactly this error, so if you perhaps just got that ad-aware, uninstall it too
